MMA’s Development & Engineering department has successfully completed the validation test for the HIPPS system. Tests for the different configurations were performed: the valve with actuator, the control system´s hydraulic modules and the complete set.
HIPPS System is composed by:
- A valve equipped with an ultra-fast drive actuator (0,3 seconds of closure time in a Ø 3” 2.500 valve series) which is able to accomplish these speeds even without pressure inside the valve. This is a key point when running a HAZOP test.
- A Hydraulic Control System with redundant capabilities, double high pilot and double quick command valve which considerably reduces the FAIL ON DEMAND PROBABILITIES.
This system is developed according to API standards allowing the possibility for commercializing it in countries as Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru and México where MMA is recognized by its Surface Safety Systems.
